Far East Organization has raised its profile and visibility as a corporate citizen by participating in the Government's efforts to raise awareness of Singapore on the international stage as a multi-cultural global city to live, work and play in.
In China, we participated in Singapore Season, a prime example of cultural diplomacy played out on the stages of performing and visual arts, literary discourses, lifestyle events and business engagements. In New York, we attended the inaugural Singapore Day where we networked with fellow overseas Singaporeans and shared with them the opportunities and transformations taking place at home.
These events have been excellent platforms for generating increased brand profile and awareness, and creating lasting impressions of Far East Organization. |

“We believe that Singapore Season not only supports our local talents, it also showcases a multifaceted and exciting Singapore with its diverse offerings.
The line-up of events present an ideal opportunity for us to network, as well as raise the brand profile and visibility of Far East Organization and Yeo Hiap Seng. The Season is an excellent platform to present Singapore's rich and vibrant arts, cultural, and business endeavours to our Chinese clients and partners.”
Mr Chia Boon Kuah, Chief Operating Officer, Property Sales, Far East Organization.
The Singapore Season began on 12 October in Beijing, and closed on 10 November in Shanghai.
The month-long event boasted a wide variety of programmes - performing, visual and literary arts, and pop culture - at prestigious indoor and public venues including the Poly Theatre and National Art Museum of China in Beijing, and Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, Shanghai Concert Hall and the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy in Shanghai.
“It is also our objective to demonstrate Singapore's global connectivity in business to our friends in China. Singapore is more than a travel destination and a trusted business partner. We want the people in China to see us as a strategic node in rapidly developing Asia, and a global city of opportunities,” said Dr Tan Chin Nam, Chairman, Singapore Season Steering Committee.
Far East Organization and Yeo Hiap Seng were Season Presenter and Associate Season Sponsor respectively, for the Singapore Season China 2007. |

“Far East Organization and Yeo Hiap Seng are delighted to participate in the inaugural Singapore Day in the Big Apple.
"Singapore is at an interesting stage in its development into a vibrant Global City of Opportunities. We at Far East Organization want to share our enthusiasm for this exciting time with our fellow Singaporeans and friends in the United States.
"And to bring home a little closer, we have the natural goodness of Yeo's drinks which complement all our favourite Singaporean hawker food for our fellow Singaporeans and friends to enjoy,"
said Mr Tjong Yik Min, President and Chief Operating Officer, Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd; and Executive Director, Far East Organization
The Inaugural Singapore Day was held in New York City's Wollman Rink in Central Park on 21 April 2007. It drew 6,000 people from nearby New Jersey, and cities all over the United States including Boston, Washington DC, and San Francisco, and even from neighbouring country Canada, and as far away as the United Kingdom.
Singapore Day, an initiative organised by the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) of Prime Minister's Office, is an opportunity for Overseas Singaporeans to network with their fellow countrymen, and get updated information on recent developments and opportunities in Singapore
Far East Organization and Yeo Hiap Seng were two of the event's Corporate Partners.
“The message we want to send to Overseas Singaporeans is this - even though you are away from home, we remember you and count you among us. Home may not be where you are; it is where your heart resides. Stay connected!” said Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, 21 April 2007. |
