La Casa is inspired by the unique architectural tradition
of Mykonos with its whitewashed cubic houses with flat
roofs, and wooden coloured doors and windows in a sea
of blue. Emulating the tranquil resort-like atmosphere
of Mykonos, La Casa is designed to provide a haven of
peace and serenity for residents to get away from the
hectic pace of working life.
La Casa maintains a level of simplicity with its clean,
pure lines. Only brightly coloured balconies and louvered
shutters providing points of visual interest, interrupt
the smooth, unornamented walls and delicate, carefully
proportioned facades of La Casa.
La Casa is conceptualised as a perimeter block creating
an L-shaped internal communal space. The living area
and bedrooms with expansive wall-to-wall windows, as
well as the dining area, are orientated outwards to
fully exploit uninterrupted views of this tranquil space.
La Casa's landscape captures and creates the different
kinds of ambience and moods that are reminiscent of
the architecture of Mykonos. Like in Mykonos, water
in the form of five swimming pools dominates La Casa's
landscape. There is also a resort-style clubhouse with
a gymnasium, and barbecue pits, fitness corner and tennis
courts for residents' use.
As one of the Singapore's four regional centres, Woodlands
has become a thriving commercial and residential area.
The area's appeal has been well supported by the market.
For example, FEO's recent 478-unit condominium development,
the Mediterranean resort-style Casablanca located in
Woodlands Avenue 2 and Rosewood Drive is almost fully
sold. The development will be completed in the second
half of this year adding to the buzz in the vibrant
district.
La Casa is located just three streets away from the
lovely Woodlands Regional Centre with its tree-lined
boulevards. Causeway Point, located here, offers a wide
range of shopping and food and beverage outlets, entertainment
facilities and services. One of Singapore's largest
regional libraries located in the Woodlands Civic Centre,
together with government offices, lie opposite Causeway
Point.
La Casa's resort atmosphere will be complemented by
the government's green plans for Woodlands. A new regional
park, with boardwalks, stretching the entire length
of Riverside Road close to the Woodlands Regional Centre
is being planned. A park connector, forming a loop and
linking the new regional park to the regional centre
and residential area, will facilitate access around
the estate all the way to the coast. It can also be
used as a trail for joggers and cyclists.
Residents with young families will be heartened by
the URA's plans for the north to become an “established
and distinctive” region for learning. Woodlands
is home to Singapore's first sports school, and the
Singapore American School. Republic Polytechnic will
be opened in 2006, while Innova Junior College has already
started operations. Primary schools like Fuchun Primary
and Woodlands Primary schools in the Programme for Rebuilding
and Improving Existing Schools are upgraded and fitted
with the latest equipment and facilities.
La Casa is well positioned to enjoy the vitality and
energy that this exciting area offers.
There is currently no available EC site under the government's
land sales programme. This means La Casa presents the
only opportunity for eligible first-time homebuyers
to own a brand new EC apartment with private condominium-style
design, quality, finishes and facilities whilst enjoying
the $30,000 CPF Housing Grant. |
