Mr Owen Ow Tin Nyap has been appointed as an Executive
Director of Far East Organization with effect from 1
June 2005.
Appointed to the Executive Office, Mr Ow will provide
strategic leadership and business development counsel
to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Philip Ng, on FEO's
various business portfolio, which includes its food
and beverage portfolio held through its Singapore-listed
subsidiary, Yeo Hiap Seng Limited (YHSL).
Concurrently, Mr Ow will also be appointed to the Boards
of both YHSL and its Malaysian-listed subsidiary, Yeo
Hiap Seng (Malaysia) Berhad (YHSM). He will carry the
functional title of Deputy President in YHSL and Managing
Director & Chief Executive Officer in YHSM. Mr Ow,
together with the current President & Chief Operating
Officer, Mr Tjong Yik Min, will assist Mr Philip Ng
to spearhead the businesses and operations of the YHS
Group, which span the Far East, North America, Europe
and Australia.
In an illustrious and sterling career spanning 32 years,
Mr Ow brings to FEO strategic broad-based experience
and many years of international exposure in the areas
of business re-engineering, mergers and acquisitions,
sales and marketing, logistics and manufacturing. Mr
Ow's extensive knowledge and experience stems from starting
at rank and file positions to various senior management
appointments in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)
market. Prior to this appointment, he has spent seven
years with the Danone Group; working to grow Danone's
ASEAN portfolio and strategic market leadership. Mr
Ow spent the last five years in Indonesia as Chairman
of Danone Group Indonesia and President Director of
Danone Aqua Group of companies. He was appointed as
the Chairman of Danone Group of Companies in the ASEAN
Region for Water/Beverages, Dairy and Biscuits in 2004.
Mr Ow has also previously held senior management positions
in Sara Lee Asia and Boustead Holdings Berhad. |

Mr Chia Boon Kuah has been appointed Chief Operating
Officer, Property Sales, with effect from 1 July 2005.
In his new appointment, Mr Chia shall oversee Team A,
Prestige Team, Sales & Regional Marketing, and the
newly created Landed Properties Specialist Team. Mr
Chia will direct and co-ordinate all Residential Sales
Teams to muster the Organization's capabilities and
expertise in sales operations. He will spearhead leadership
development as well as review existing structures, compositions
and processes in the various sales teams to create a
formidable sales force that is well placed to address
the different segments of the private residential market.
Building our sales force and sales and distribution
network is a top priority in our efforts to transform
FEO into a robust sales and marketing organisation.
So, too, is ensuring that we devise the right marketing
campaign to communicate our unique selling propositions
to the market, and leveraging on the other assets in
our portfolio to help us sell better. In furthering
the entrepreneurial vision of our founder, we must continue
to develop quality products that are capable of satisfying
new desires in the market. |

Concurrent to his position as Director of Marketing
& Business Development, Mr Eddie Yong has been appointed
Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Ventures & Industrial
Business Group, with effect from 1 July 2005. Mr Yong's
new role will anchor him much more to driving business
development for the Organization. Mr Yong will work
closely with Mr Leong Horn Kee, Chief Operating Officer,
Ventures & Industrial Business Group, on current
Singapore projects and investments, while assuming charge
of FEO's business development activities in the region
notably in new markets like Vietnam, Thailand and India.
He will continue to devote efforts to the marketing
of our portfolio of industrial land holdings and properties.
Mr Yong has been credited for spearheading the unification
of our sales operations and building up the sales and
marketing capability of Far East Organization. He has
played a key role in coordinating our sales efforts
as well as in incubating various programmes to facilitate
organisation-wide participation in sales, including
the Integrated Approach to Sales Committee, Sales Excellence
Month, and Club Connect. He has also been very much
involved in the information sharing process for our
Sales teams and the training of both Sales and non-Sales
staff towards creating a potent sales force for the
Organization. |

Mr Arthur Kiong will head the newly created Hotel Division
within Far East Organization to oversee the operations
of its five hotels - Albert Court Hotel, Changi Village
Hotel, The Elizabeth Hotel, Golden Landmark Hotel, and
Orchard Parade Hotel. Mr Kiong will also hold a concurrent
appointment as Director of Hotel Operations in Orchard
Parade Holdings Limited, which owns Albert Court Hotel
and Orchard Parade Hotel.
Mr Kiong’s appointments will take effect on 1
August 2005.
In his new role, Mr Kiong will provide leadership to
the Hotel Division as it gears up to achieve a new level
of operational and business excellence. He will leverage
on successful change initiatives implemented in the
last few years to further improve the financial performance
of Far East Organization’s hotel portfolio.
Mr Kiong will augment the sales and marketing capability
and branding of Far East Organization Hotels to position
the business strongly for the exciting emerging opportunities
in Singapore’s hospitality and tourism industry.
A Singaporean, Mr Kiong is a veteran in the hotel industry
having spent the last 20 years focusing on hotel operations
and sales and marketing for various hotels in Asia and
the USA. Mr Kiong joins Far East Organization from The
Peninsula Hotels, where he is Vice President, Marketing.
The Peninsula Hotels is the hotel operation of the Hong
Kong listed The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited,
a pioneer world-class hotel group in Asia. Mr Kiong
has also worked with The Ritz Carlton, New York and
Singapore, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Hyatt International
and Westin Hotels.
Far East Organization together with its Hong Kong-based
sister company Sino Group is a substantial owner of
hotels in both Singapore and Hong Kong. Its collection
of 10 hotels ranges from three-star to five-star, with
a total inventory of 4,450 rooms. The flagship is The
