FOR BEING OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEES, FOUR FAR EAST ORGANIZATION COLLEAGUES FLEW TO HONG KONG AND MACAU FOR A STUDY TRIP. |

It was twin bliss on 6 December 2007 for four Far East Organization employees. Not only were they given accolades for being the year’s best employees at the Organization’s annual awards ceremony at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, but they were also soon to be embarking on a five-day trip to Hong Kong and Macau.
The four deserving recipients were Goh Boon Peng, Lim Wei Ping and Chiang Hock Wee, senior managers from the Development Projects Department and Gavin Ho Wei Nam, executive, Central Engineering and Operations.
For Mr Chiang, the award came as a pleasant surprise. “The criteria and appraising system are more stringent than previous years. Thus, I consider my nomination for the Far East Organization Outstanding Employee Awards a great achievement. But to be able to go on and win it is fantastic and does wonders for my confidence,” said an elated Mr Chiang.
It is Mr Goh’s second Outstanding Employee Award and he is using it as a benchmark for continued excellence in his career. “I look upon this award as a reaffirmation of my personal standards in striving to be the best in what I do. I want to lead by example and guide my
co-workers to higher levels of competency,” emphasised Mr Goh.
For Mr Lim, the award was a milestone in his career. “I am really thankful to be chosen as one of the four Far East Organization ambassadors for 2007. This award has injected more verve in my will to succeed,” said Mr Lim.
To Mr Ho, the youngest winner among the quartet, the award is a huge morale booster. “The selection and evaluation process prior to winning the award was one of the most memorable chapters in my career with Far East Organization. Its enriching exposure
can help build one’s experience and character,” he remarked.
Director (Property Sales) Ms Yu We Le, who was previously heading Group Human Resources (GHR), was pleased for the winners. “Their contribution to the Organization has been immense. They have shown not only passion and commitment in their work, but also a willingness to go beyond their duty to motivate and guide those around them. This will benefit the Organization significantly as new staff will see them as mentors and a source of inspiration to better themselves,” stressed Ms Yu.
Accompanied by Ms Yu, the quartet made their way to Hong Kong from 16-20 January this year. One
of the highlights of their Hong Kong trip was an on-site visit to Sino Group, the Organization’s Hong Kong-based sister company.
There, they were warmly received by Ms Rita Li, Centre General Manager from Sino Estate Management Ltd. The group went on to visit Sino Group’s key development projects, including The Hong Kong Gold Coast, and Gold Coast Hotel, Olympian City, One Silversea and Central Plaza.
Over in Macau, the group were shown the sights of the city by a real estate associate. There, they took a closer look at Macau’s new developments and showflats before they were treated to a lavish Portuguese meal and later, a visit to the Venetian Resort Hotel.
Before their departure from Macau, the group visited Fisherman’s Wharf, a theme park with a ‘live’ volcano and themed eateries and stores reminiscent of seaports in Cape Town, Amsterdam
and Venice.
At the end of their well-deserved trip, the group made their way back to Singapore with many fond memories and impressions — of unforgettable sights and insights, friendly locals,
and invaluable contacts. LM
