LOCATED IN THE PRIME DISTRICT OF BUKIT TIMAH, The Floridian offers resort-style living coupled with the convenience of being close to the city, plus the benefits of having some of Singapore’s top educational institutions nearby.
The 336-unit freehold condominium is nestled in tranquil surroundings: close by are Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Nearby too are Holland Village and Rochester Park, home to chic and acclaimed dining establishments.
At the same time, there’s easy access to other parts of Singapore via the Pan-Island Expressway. In addition, Orchard Road, the Central Business District, and the technology hubs of One-North and Science Parks I and II are just minutes away.
Families with children will also appreciate the presence of good schools such as Methodist Girls’ School and Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School in the neighbourhood, not to mention tertiary institutions like Hwa Chong Institution, INSEAD, the National University of Singapore, Singapore and Ngee Ann Polytechnics, and the Singapore Institute of Management.
Against this convenient backdrop, The Floridian, set on a 230,000 sq ft site on a slope, evokes the leisurely lifestyle of Miami’s sunny coast. Residents and visitors will be transported to another world the moment they enter the slightly winding driveway flanked by
water features. |

At the main drop-off point is the hotel-like foyer of The Club — the social hub of the 11-block condo. Unlike most developments with a single underlying thread, Far East Organization has opted to introduce multiple themes for The Floridian. Towers 5, 6 and 7 for instance are collectively known as The Verandah, and are distinguished by their communal rooftop terraces and gardens. Lush verdant foliage, timber-like screens, living and dining spaces at either frontage are other key attractions.
If you had a unit in the Downtown towers (towers 1 & 2), you would most likely be a young urbanite with a penchant for clean solid lines and accent colours. Residents at towers 9, 10 and 11 — also known as the Hideaway and South Beach Towers — have the advantage of space in their prime four and four-plus bedroom units. Homeowners at the Hideaway towers (towers 9 &10) can have easy access to a spa sanctuary at the ground level, while South Beach tower (tower 11) residents enjoy unobstructed views of the condo’s water features and the surrounding woods.
Designed by DP Architects — which has an established presence with offices in seven countries, and award-winning projects under its belt such as Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, the new National Library in Singapore as well as Dubai Mall — the architectural language for the project is one of modern tropical living, expressed through clean, simple lines and a varied palette of materials, from sleek glass to warm timber.
Outdoors, the design is centred on several themed enclaves. The Downtown Pool enclave near the entrance integrates a 25m lap pool with a children’s pool and splash court. Users can also indulge in hydrotherapy here while relaxing on spa seats lining both sides of the pool. The Keys Pool with its landscaped poolside promenades offers enough space for several garden parties to be held at any one time. The South Beach Pool features several pool alcoves while the Palm Grove Pools are three cascading pools linked by bridges and timber promenades.
Unlike other condos, the outdoor party fare here transcends the usual barbecues. Tandoori, teppanyaki, and pizza can be whipped up using the specialised cooking facilities in its gourmet dining court.
