Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd has acquired a new 'strategic partner'.
A group of 32 budding entrepreneurs, age between eight
and 11, from Hougang Primary School, has taken on the
challenge of running a little café, Café@Hougang,
specialising in Yeo's drinks.
This partnership, the first of its kind in Singapore,
was Yeo's latest move to embrace the young. Mr Goh Ek
Piang, principal of Hougang Primary School, welcomed
such an initiative: "One strategy we adopt to enrich
our pupils' lives is to forge win-win partnerships with
parties in the wider community.
This joint project with Yeo's is a great example. With
Café@Hougang, our pupils receive valuable training
about entrepreneurship and acquire practical
skills for running a small business." |

The budding entrepreneurs were taught during
their June school holidays how to manage finances,
handle daily operations and market their products
by Dr Donald Ee, an entrepreneurship trainer,
who was brought in by YHS.
Café@Hougang got off to a great start.
On the day of its soft launch, all drinks were
snapped up. New stock had to be reordered that
very day itself. In addition to all the old-time
favourites, Café@Hougang also carries Yeo's
new line of drinks including Jus Tea, Pink Dolphin,
Black Soy and SoyKids in Strawberry, Banana and
Peach flavours. |
